Bastar has a lot to offer to the adventurous souls. With dense forests, serpentine valleys, rivers, Bastar is a mysterious land. Of the three exceptional caves in Kanger Valley National Park, Kailash Cave is the oldest cave of the region. Discovered in 22nd March 1993, Kailash Cave, the underground cave of Bastar, has some of the earliest limestone formations which are very captivating. The known length of this cave is 1000 feet with a depth of 120 feet.
Due to alluring limestone formations alike shivlingas – stalactites and stalagmites inside the cave give it a replica of Kailash. These dripstone formations are worshipped by the locals also. Kotumsar and Dandak caves are the other attractions of Kanger Valley National Park. Guides, torches are available for tourists. During monsoon, Kailash Cave is closed and gets reopened from 16 October to 15 June every year. Now, Gypsy Safari is also available for tourists to explore the beauty of the place.
